This vibrant collaboration between SLT’s Mainstage and its Junior High Academy invites performers ages 10 to 99  to join a powerful storytelling experience set in the hardship and hope of Victorian London. Based on the classic novel by Charles Dickens, OLIVER! takes us into the cruel and crowded workhouse where a young orphan named Oliver dares to ask for more—and embarks on a journey from poverty to possibility. From the haunting plea of “Food, Glorious Food” to the defiant, hopeful sounds of “Consider Yourself,” the show weaves themes of injustice, loyalty, redemption and love through unforgettable songs and characters.

Expect a striking mixture of gritty reality and uplifting inspiration: the streets and markets of London become the backdrop for Oliver’s encounter with cunning pickpockets, an embittered Fagin, the dangerous Bill Sikes, the kind Nancy, and the compassionate Mr. Brownlow.

We are thrilled to welcome all Junior High Academy students who wish to audition for Oliver the Musical! While audition numbers will not be limited, we want to be transparent that we may not be able to cast every Junior High Academy Member who auditions in this production.

If a student auditions but is not cast, families will receive a full refund of the audition/registration fee. Our goal is always to create a positive, educational, and rewarding experience for every young performer while honoring the integrity of a MainStage production, and we appreciate your understanding as we work to build the strongest and most balanced cast possible for this production.
